Photos, memories, friendship, senior school time and youth. In the beginning of summer, with flowers around, Haileybury International School held the 2018 Graduation Ceremony on June 6. We said farewell to our graduates.
At 11AM, the ceremony commenced officially. The graduate students witnessed this exciting moment together with the school leaders, their teachers as well as their beloved parents.
It was that day when the Haileybury students said goodbye to their high school life. With confidence and smile, they were to go on a new journey in a bigger world.
Time flies. We could still see you studying in the classrooms and doing sports in the oval. Good memories of teachers and campus. It was here where you got to know each which all extracted in the grand ceremony.
Haileybury witnessed your growth. She will be always watching you as you go. We expect you to go with the confidence and encouragement from Haileybury.

The Executive Principal Dr. Kathy Wang, Executive Principal addressed to the audience.
In her speech, Dr. Kathy Wang congratulated all the graduates With graduation, students would enter a larger community - - the global Haileybury community which numbers tens of thousands of men and women around the world. All of them follow the glorious tradition of Haileybury with 125 years’ history.
Dr. Wang also shared the history of Haileybury. It was in 1892 that the first students left Haileybury for the wider world. There were seventeen students in that first group.All Haileyburians around the world hold some core values in their lives. They are: strive for excellence, social justice, and the international outlook. As graduates from the China Campus, you hold a special mission. That is, contribute your Chinese wisdom to build a better world.
Students, at Haileybury, you lifted up your hearts and developed skills and wisdom. This requires a commitment from many people – and most important of these are the teachers. To all the teachers here I thank you for your wonderful work. The success of these students is due to your dedication and professionalism. The whole school community is indebted to you. Thank you.
The graduates would leave their motherland to a bigger world. Dr. Wang encouraged them not to forget their roots and let patriot to their motherland become as real as their blood and heart when they are thousands of miles away from her.
Dr. Wang also urged the students that from Haileybury, they would enter a wider world. They should be brave and be strong, be a good world citizen and contribute their Chinese wisdom to build a better world. She wished them every success for the future.

Mr Scott Doran, Vice Principal of Haileybury Melbourne who is acting on behalf of our Chairman, Mr Derek Scott. Mr Doran was also here representing the Old Haileyburians’ Association, and would welcome the students into the Association.
MrPhilip Cooleyread from Shakespeare’s Hamlet to express the good wished to the HIST graduates.
Representatives from Year 12 body then offered a farewell to their fellow graduates.
Mr. Erwin delivered a formal charge to the graduating students.
With the singing of the Haileybury School song, the ceremony was successfully concluded.
At noon, the valedictory luncheon was held for the students, teachers and parents.With their study at Haileybury, the students felt the sense of belong. It was finally time to say goodbye.
Haileybury accompanied the 2018 graduates with their growth and they also witnessed the enormous development of their beloved school.
