Dear teachers and students:
Good morning everyone!
Our topic today is: safety awareness.
Safety awareness is the concept that all activities in our daily lives must consider safety. People should stay alert to the various external environmental conditions that may cause harm to themselves or to others. Safety awareness includes food safety, traffic safety, and personal safety.
Why should we always improve our safety awareness? On the one hand, it is our personal responsibility to stay healthy and safe, but also consider the feelings and concerns of our family. We must not allow our family and friends to worry about our welfare. Furthermore, you need to realize you are at an important stage of growth and development in, body, mind, knowledge and ability. Due to your lack of social experience, sense of security and legal knowledge, young people can often fail to cope with various security and safety issues. Therefore, for us, improving safety awareness is of great significance.
So how do we improve our security awareness?
First of all, traffic safety issues cannot be underestimated. Please remember not to stare at your phone while walking; especially when crossing the road at traffic lights.
Second, food safety issues are also extremely important. When we are eating out, we should choose a healthy, reputable restaurant; and not to buy expired and out of date food.
Thirdly, the issue of personal safety is also important. Do not carry large amounts of cash and valuable items when you go out. Don't leave your own personal information on social networking sites, and especially don't trust strangers you meet online.
Finally, if you experience a security incident, stay calm. If you can't solve the problem by yourself, you can ask for help from people around you or use legal methods. There are many things in our lives that can make us lose focus on these problems. What we can do is to raise awareness of safety and security, and to ensure safety awareness is something you always think about.
Thank you for listening!
This week your summer holiday break will commence. It is a time to enjoy yourselves, relax and spend time with your friends and families. But it is also a time to be particularly careful about your safety.
Often, the times when you are most unsafe are when you are in unfamiliar situations. Some of the areas to be careful of are transportation dangers, food safety and bad weather events.
When you are travelling in a car, you should stay in your seat, wear the safety belt and not distract the driver from concentrating on the road. Be observant of your surroundings when you are travelling on public transport.
For food safety, be careful with street food. Sometimes that street food may look delicious, but it might not be the healthiest thing that you can eat.
Be careful in bad weather. If it is raining heavily, it is easy to slip and fall when you are rushing to get out of the rain and the ground is wet. When it is very windy, things flying through the air can hit you. Be on the lookout for dangers.
Most of all, though, you should enjoy your break. You have worked throughout the year and now is the time to recuperate so that you can face another year of study. The teachers of Haileybury wish you the best for your holiday.
