Dear teachers and students，Good morning.
Today, my speech is "Inheriting the traditional virtues of China and promoting the new trend of respecting the old ".
As many students know, today is the ninth day of September in the lunar calendar. It is another traditional festival of our Chinese nation, the Double Ninth Festival. In the ancient Book of Changes, "six" is defined as the negative number, and "nine" is defined as the positive number. On September 9th, the sun and the moon are both positive, and the two are equal. Therefore, it is called Chongyang. Nine is the largest number in the number. It has the meaning of longevity. Moreover, autumn is the golden season harvested in one year. Therefore, Chongyang Festival has profound implications. So the ancients thought it was a lucky day to celebrate.
It is said that the Double Ninth Festival began in the early Han Dynasty. During the Eastern Han Dynasty, people had the custom of climbing high on this day, so the Double Ninth Festival was also called "climbing high festival". Later in the Tang Dynasty, poets wrote many poems about climbing high, most of which were about the custom of this Festival. For example, Wang Wei's " September 9th, Recalling Shandong Brothers" and Du Fu's "Seven Laws of Climbing High" are more famous descriptions of the festival. The ancients believed that the insertion of dogwood on the day could take shelter from disasters, so the custom of inserting dogwood on Double Ninth Festival was very common in Tang Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, the custom of this Festival in Beijing was to paste chrysanthemum branches and leaves on doors and windows to relieve the evil and to attract good luck.
Today's Double Ninth Festival has been given a new meaning. In 1989, September 9th of the lunar calendar was designated as the Old Man's Day in our country. The combination of tradition and modernity has become the Old Man's Day of respecting, loving and helping the old. For the sake of the prosperity of our country and the prosperity and well-being of the next generation, the older generation has worked hard for decades and created a lot of material and spiritual wealth, nurtured and cared for us carefully, so that we can thrive. Now that they are old, they deserve the respect and care of the whole society. Therefore, we should inherit and carry forward the fine tradition of respecting the old and respecting the old of the Chinese nation.
Respect for the elderly is never a day of the Double Ninth Festival. It should help the elderly solve their difficulties in daily life and give them more psychological comfort. Therefore, I propose that every student should give our heart to the old people with practical actions and do whatever he can for his grandparents or the old neighbors, such as washing their clothes, dishes, sweeping the floor and folding their beds, think more of them, and let them do less of what we should have done by ourselves. Give them delicious food, tell them interesting things, be polite to neighbors and elders, and go out to give courtesy to the elderly.
May all the old people live a happy life like us!
Thank you for listening!
Dear teachers and students：
Good morning，Today our theme is the double ninth festival. Double ninth festival, with "long" homophony. Nine is the largest number in the number. It symbolizes longevity. besides, autumn is also the golden harvest season in a year, and Double Ninth Festival is far-reaching.
In ancient times, when people climbed high in Double Ninth Festival, they missed their hometown, Double Ninth Festival was a day of reunion. Poets, who can't be reunited and miss their brothers and relatives in their hometown, write the ancient famous sentence " I know every one of my brothers will climb the mountains and stick the cornel today, however it doesn't involve me anymore. "Expressing the poet's yearning for his hometown and relatives.
The heart of yearning and words reveal the true feelings. Our country wants to give new meaning to the Double Ninth Festival, which is named festival for old people. China, like many other countries in the world, has gradually entered the elderly society. Caring for the elderly, Caring for the elders has become the responsibility of the whole society. let everyone give a little love, the world will become beautiful.
Students, let us have a grateful heart, thank them for supporting the blue sky for us, let us strive to be a good child of courtesy , so that the traditional Chinese virtues of respecting, loving and helping the old can be passed down from generation to generation and shine forever.
